This section contains fantasy fine art compositions generated with digital tools - mostly Adobe Photoshop - rather than colored pencil. Most of these pieces were concept art for commercial clients, generated from scratch using Photoshop's drawing tools, both native and plug-in filters, and little or no scanned material. A few of these pieces are identified as preliminary compositions for upcoming colored pencil drawings. Mark is pre-composing most of his pencil drawings digitally now to make sure compositional decisions are all made as soundly as possible before he begins the actual drawing. This eliminates a lot of uncertainty and stress from the actual drawing process, and results in a better finished product. In these preliminary comp pieces, some scanned material is combined and integrated with digitally drawn components as these pieces will function basically as 'photo-reference' for the finished piece. |
